Crane operation poses several hazards. Among them it is possible to point out the following:
- Load drop;
- Running over;
- Contact with electrical cables;
- Hit by swing part, etc.
The OSHA video emphasizes the hazard of the worker to be hit by crane swing part, which can become a critical event due to the possibilty to cause fatality.
In order to prevent this kind of event, it should be recommended to provide barricade to prevent workers enter in the hazard zone, as well to adopt other safeguards as outlined in the following video provided by OSHA.
