O EPSC publicou um alerta neste mês de março relacionado a vazamento de cloro causado por montagem de uma tubulação que não atendia às boas práticas de engenharia reconhecidas e geralmente aceitas (RAGAGEP).
Tubulações que transportam produtos perigosos devem ter as seguintes características para facilitar inspeções e evitar corrosão ou danos em função de instalação deficiente:
- Manter a tubulação livre para permitir expansão térmica e evitar carga dinâmica, levando à estresse;
- Utilizar novas tecnologias para verificar as condições da tubulação se ela estiver num local difícil para fazer inspeção;
- Garantir uma boa suportação para evitar vibrações que pode causar estresse dinâmico;
- Evitar possibilidade de retenção de água em partes externa à tubulação a fim de reduzir a possibilidade de corrosão externa. Continue lendo…

The EPSC issued an alert in March regarding a chlorine leak caused by pipeline assembly that did not adhere to recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEP).
To enable inspections and prevent corrosion or damage due to improper installation, piping carrying dangerous products must have the following features:
- Allow for thermal expansion and avoid dynamic loading, which might cause stress.
- If the pipeline is in an inaccessible area, use innovative technologies to inspect its condition.
- To eliminate vibrations that can induce dynamic stress, ensure adequate support.
- To limit the potential of external corrosion, avoid the possibility of water retention in sections exterior to the piping. Keep reading….
