Sometimes we are concerned with flammable liquids and gases. But, eventually, we forget another category of dangerous products that is combustible dust.
Explosions due to combustible dust have already caused several major accidents and have taken many lives and several loss of properties. In some activities, such as food processing, waste treatment, pulp and paper and sugar manufacturing exist some sources of combustible dust.
So, it is very important to enhance the awareness on this hazard in order to avoid major accidents like one that happened in 2008 (Imperial Sugar) where fourteen people lost their lives due to explosion in sugar dust. Keep reading…
